Located between the expansive Fatih and Belgrad Forests, the project occupies a rare ecological corridor in Istanbul one that has remained untouched by prior urban development or transformation. This unique site, which has never been opened to settlement, enables a context-sensitive design anchored in preservation, resilience, and human well-being.
Planned in five phases, the masterplan combines diverse housing typologies with complementary functions including a sports academy, commercial units, an equestrian center, and generous recreational amenities. All residential blocks are oriented to maximize northern forest views, natural ventilation, and daylight access. Upper floor terraces are directed northwards, offering residents continuous visual and sensory connection with the surrounding woodland.
Seismic Safety Through Base Isolation Technology:
Situated in Istanbul’s second-degree seismic risk zone, the project integrates seismic isolator systems into its foundational design. These devices absorb ground motion during earthquakes, reducing deformation and preventing structural damage. As a result, the buildings remain operational even after high-magnitude seismic events safeguarding both life and property.
Public Realm Rooted in Nature:
Courtyards between blocks are activated through playgrounds, reflection pools, and seating zones transforming them into social greenspaces. Internal roads are flanked by passive green strips, enhancing the serenity and ecological continuity of the site. A dedicated equestrian zone within the northwest forest edge includes indoor and outdoor riding areas, stables, and clubhouse facilities.
Buffer Zones and Green Infrastructure:
A continuous green buffer along the southern edge mitigates noise from the adjacent main road while preserving scenic quality. This landscape corridor is extended across all parcels, bridging built forms and natural systems with a soft and coherent transition.
