Located adjacent to the Baku Vagon Mixed-Use Complex, the Baku Mehdizade Project integrates residential and commercial functions into a cohesive urban configuration. Rather than existing independently, this development complements and is mutually influenced by the adjacent Vagon project, forming a spatial dialogue.

Positioned in the southern part of Baku, Azerbaijan an area characterized by its concentration of commercial and cultural activities the site also benefits from direct access to the redeveloped old port zone, now reimagined as a linear park.

Architectural Concept and Spatial Strategy

The guiding principle of the design is to establish a harmonious relationship with the city’s skyline. Height regulation, terrace placement, and mass articulation were carefully considered to ensure visual continuity and balanced proportions.

The project incorporates two types of terrace living: private pool terraces that open toward the sea, and communal courtyard facing terraces that enhance social interaction. Commercial units are placed at the ground level to maintain an active street frontage, while residential units above are oriented for optimal sea views and daylight access. The courtyard spaces between the volumes create microclimatic pockets and support a sense of community.

Accessibility and Open Space Planning

Designed for high permeability, the site features pedestrian-friendly zones, accessible plazas, and a clearly articulated circulation network. These urban elements connect residential life with public activity, merging private living and public realm in a seamless experience.
