Located in the fertile landscapes of Urla, the project embraces the steep topography that descends toward the sea. By carefully studying the land through sectional analyses and contour mapping, the masterplan is designed to harmonize with the terrain while enhancing both views and accessibility.
Conceptual Approach
The design concept is inspired by Tuscany, Italy a fertile coastal region embraced by mountains and hills that has maintained its cultural and spatial richness since Ancient Rome. Similarly, Urla in Turkey has cultivated its own unique identity through fertile lands, the sea, and cultural practices. This parallel serves as the conceptual foundation of the project, bridging natural fertility with architectural form.
Site Strategy and Orientation
The site plan organizes the residences across varying elevations, orienting them toward the sea. The steep slope of the terrain, rather than being a constraint, is transformed into an advantage: the residences are placed in a tiered manner to ensure uninterrupted views for all.
Functional Design
Both indoor and outdoor functions are shaped around the dual aim of maximizing the landscape experience and offering diverse spatial opportunities. Swimming pools, farming and cultivation terraces, and seating areas directed toward the panorama enrich the living environment. Within the residences, functions are carefully adapted to the site’s potentials. Spaces revealed by elevation differences are designed as garages or additional living areas, adding both practicality and value.
Housing Typologies
The 6+1 residential units are designed for users who require generous interior and exterior living spaces. By integrating topographic challenges into architectural opportunities, the project proposes a lifestyle rooted in nature, sea, and fertile land.
