Located in the well established district of Şişli, the Subayevleri project aims to transform a former military housing compound into a contemporary urban neighborhood tailored to the needs of modern life. While preserving architectural memory, the intervention seeks to reestablish a livable urban fabric at the scale of the neighborhood.

Urban Integration and Open Space Organization

The project reorganizes new residential blocks within the logic of existing parcels, maintaining the continuity of the original street grid. Pedestrian circulation is redefined through courtyards, green belts, and linear pathways, ensuring spatial permeability and a clear hierarchy. The master plan is structured around two main green spines that provide orientation and spatial continuity across the site.

Typological Diversity and Topographical Responsiveness

The sloping terrain of the site plays a decisive role in shaping the building massing and architectural form. Blocks are positioned to preserve views and sunlight access. The varied building typologies enrich the urban fabric with diversity while maintaining overall coherence.

A Livable and Inclusive Program

Prioritizing residential use, the project also incorporates essential community-oriented functions. A kindergarten located on-site acts as a social anchor. Generous green spaces, walking paths, children’s play areas, and shaded seating zones offer a comprehensive living environment suitable for all age groups. The result is a self-sufficient, walkable, and accessible neighborhood where community and daily life are seamlessly integrated.
