Situated in the heart of Istanbul’s northern growth corridor, the Oyakkent Master Plan spans 3.73 km² and envisions a comprehensive urban development composed of villas, low and high-rise residences, commercial clusters, botanical parks, and public spaces. As a prominent phase within this master plan, the “Oyakkent 3 Silhouette” project is conceived to establish a spatial dialogue between landscape, infrastructure, and urban identity.
Located west of the O-7 Istanbul Airport connection highway, the site enjoys immediate access to primary road networks and sits at the intersection of Istanbul’s major infrastructural projects, including Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Istanbul Airport, and the future Kanal Istanbul. Its proximity to Başakşehir’s Millet Bahçesi, the 2682-bed Çam & Sakura City Hospital, Başakşehir Municipality’s new civic center, and İkitelli Organized Industrial Zone reinforces its strategic and civic significance.
The project is embraced by a continuous green corridor comprising valley topography, the National Garden, and designated municipal parklands. Design strategies focus on topographical integration, visual permeability, and programmatic layering. Housing units are placed along three distinct axes, oriented towards green spaces and scenic corridors. The low-rise residences along the Third Beltway are designed to preserve the silhouette by embedding into the natural slope, with planted terraces facing the surrounding greenery.
High-rise blocks are positioned along view corridors, creating visual connectivity with the National Garden. Villas are organized in a cascading configuration, following the terrain and orienting toward the valley. Three mixed-use residential towers form the project’s urban core, centered around a plaza that combines ground-level commercial units and gathering spaces. This square, accessible from all three parcels, becomes the project’s social anchor, serving approximately 4,000 residents.
Rather than dispersing amenities across the site, the design deliberately consolidates social and commercial functions around the central square transforming it into a vibrant, everyday meeting point. Shared inner courtyards diversify across housing clusters, allowing residents flexible interaction with nature while maintaining a strong connection to the valley and surrounding green infrastructure.
